The BLACK PERIOD builds on the artist's prior functional experiences in glass casting with the development of new artistic glass sculpting techniques. The glass object is broken into individual elements by a special polishing procedure, which only visually becomes whole again. The technical opportunities open doors, and the artist's intent can be seen as a critique of popular culture formulated through geometrical shapes.
